Check out the Behind the scenes with Arizona Public Media (AZPM) as they document the story of the SaludArte Program – a powerful example of the use of Public Art as a bridge for Public Health.
A collaboration between the Pima County Health Department, the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona, and Pima County’s five supervisory districts, 2023 SaludArte used public art to promote health in culturally relevant, community-rooted ways.

This AZPM feature will reflect on the outcomes of 2023 SaludArte and look ahead to 2025 SaludArte, which will focus on creating temporary public art installations across Pima County to break the stigma around substance use. By collaborating with individuals with lived experience, the project aims to foster dialogue and support positive health outcomes—culminating in a public exhibition in late Fall 2025.
Stay tuned for the upcoming AZPM feature!
