Celene, also known as Quantum Casual, is a Tucson-based contemporary artist born and raised in Douglas, AZ. She is renowned for her vibrant, sarcastic portraits that blend humor with themes of femininity, human connection, and mortality.
Her work is characterized by a unique fusion of minimal surrealism and pop art influences, reflecting a spontaneous creative process informed by current events and personal experiences.
Her recent drop of stickers, “Afirmaciones Dulces” is a fusion of Mexican treats and words of affirmation.
I am inspired by the bold and vibrant color schemes of pop art. I usually take whatever reference object or image I’m using and exaggerate their colors to be brighter and potent.
