Nostalgia washes all corners of a small border-town as a young woman processes her grief through a storm.
“My color palettes are heavily influenced by nostalgia, family history, and my personal experience growing up in the borderlands of the Sonoran desert. Magical realism is usually at the heart of my aesthetic. Magic, superstition, and the natural elements were always common tropes within the stories of my own cultural upbringing. The goal is to be able to express and critique the harsh reality of society, while simultaneously invoking the emotional and resilient power within humans; especially those living on the fringes. I try to convey this visually by combining earthly, desert tones with subtle undercurrents of bright, celebratory colors.”

Resumen: La nostalgia baña todos los rincones de un pequeño pueblo fronterizo mientras una joven procesa su dolor a través de una tormenta.
“Mis paletas de colores están fuertemente influenciadas por la nostalgia, la historia familiar y mi experiencia personal al crecer en las tierras fronterizas del desierto de Sonora. El realismo mágico suele estar en el corazón de mi estética. La magia, la superstición y los elementos naturales siempre fueron tropos comunes dentro de las historias de mi propia educación cultural. El objetivo es poder expresar y criticar la dura realidad de la sociedad, al mismo tiempo que invoco el poder emocional y resistente dentro de los humanos, especialmente aquellos que viven al margen. Trato de transmitir esto visualmente combinando tonos terrosos y desérticos con sutiles trasfondos de colores brillantes y festivos”.
