The University of Arizona’s Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry invites artists, creatives, and community practitioners from the Arizona-Sonora border region and Southern Arizona tribal nations to apply for the new Confluencias: Voices and Visions of the Arizona-Sonora Border grant. As part of the Fronteridades program, this initiative seeks innovative art and education-based projects that elevate overlooked narratives to build a more just and inclusive portrayal of border life.
Individuals, collectives, and organizations are encouraged to submit proposals across various media—including storytelling & literature, visual & applied arts, digital & printed media, and community workshops—to explore the region’s shifting social and cultural landscapes. By amplifying local voices from both sides of the border, these projects aim to deepen our collective understanding of the diverse communities inhabiting the U.S.-Mexico borderlands.
