Amanda Ma (Ama) is a ceremonialist, integrative healing practitioner, community arts organizer, and interdisciplinary artist whose work centers on ritual, remembrance, and creative expression. With roots in Filipina, Scottish, and Polish ancestry, Ama’s path is shaped by years of study and service in earth-based ceremonial traditions across South and North America. She brings over a decade of experience in arts leadership, public programming, and community healing into her offerings. She has served as the Artistic Programs Manager at the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance since 2019.
Through The Creative Medicine Path, Ama offers workshops, retreats, and mentorship that blend ancestral reverence with embodied, intuitive practices. From earth altars and spirit dolls to vocal devotion and mythic storytelling, her work invites participants to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with their inner wisdom. All offerings are grounded in cultural sensitivity, nature connection, and the belief that art is both a portal and medicine.
Earth Altar Workshops are nature-based ritual experiences that invite participants into deep presence, creativity, and meaning-making using natural materials. Guided by Amanda Ma, a certified Morning Altars teacher and student of Day Schildkret, these workshops draw on the seven-step practice of earth altar-making to cultivate connection to self, place, and spirit.
Amanda facilitates these offerings for diverse groups—including youth, elders, artists, seekers, educators, and healing professionals—adapting each experience to honor the land, season, and intention. Her approach blends grounded instruction with intuitive guidance, using the outer landscape to mirror the self’s inner landscape. Whether in retreat settings, community events, or one-on-one containers, each altar becomes a living reflection of story, beauty, and transformation.
Hand-crafted through the ritual art of needle felting, each medicine doll is born from an intuitive process that blends storytelling, symbolism, and sacred intention. These figures are crafted in workshop spaces that Amanda Ma guides, where participants connect with ancestral wisdom, inner archetypes, and personal healing through fiber, breath, and hands-on creation. Each doll becomes a vessel of prayer, protection, and transformation.
