The mission of Ben’s Bells Project is to teach individuals and communities about the positive impacts of intentional kindness and to inspire people to practice kindness as a way of life.
As we enter our 22nd year, we have grown to become a recognized symbol of kindness in the Tucson community and beyond. Although Ben’s Bells is known for its colorful ceramic Bells hung throughout Tucson and beyond, the organization also offers several programs to develop the life skill of intentional kindness. Through our research-based programming, we provide lessons on the science of kindness, examples of kindness practices, and suggested activities. Ben’s Bells’ programs are based on the belief that everyone has the capacity to be kind and that kindness can be cultivated through education, visual reminders, and ongoing practice. Our programming provides a comprehensive, intentional, and proactive approach for developing kindness skills.
The organization serves multiple constituencies, including youth through our Kind Campus school program, adults with our Kind Colleagues workplace program, and the entire community through our four studios and shop.

Designed with the class of 2023, this custom mural represents the culture of the school centered around kindness. It is 10 feet X 8 feet.

All of Ben’s Bells Mosaic Tile Murals use the “Zagar Method” brought to Tucson in 2009 by Isaiah Zagar from Philadelphia. Murals utilize the outline and fill technique, making it easy for all to participate. This mural was installed in December, 2009 and was used to teach Ben’s Bells staff this technique. It can be found by the original Ben’s Bells studio at University & Tyndall.
