I create modern-day alchemy in each of my Abstract Art Collections, bringing together color, texture, space, and light to convey love of the natural world. I create contemporary abstract mosaic and mixed media artworks under the name “Black Cat Mosaics.”
As an artist, I have embarked on a journey creating mosaics, one of the most ancient and durable forms of art. In addition to intensive self-study, I have learned from internationally renowned mosaic artists, including classes in the U.S. and Europe. My early career paths were in Psychology, Social Work, and Massage Therapy.
Texture and Color are signature elements in my art. Some of my designs feature natural stone, semi-precious minerals, patinas, many types of glass, glazed ceramic, fossils, metals, and vintage beads. Many artworks feature handmade substrates, reusing non-biodegradable polystyrene, which could remain in a landfill indefinitely. I create lightweight, sturdy, and environmentally respectful substrates.
My art has been in state, national, and international juried art exhibitions. My husband and I live in Tucson, Arizona, with our pampered black cat, Ace, surrounded by flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert.
