Kellie M Hazell

After twenty years in clinical research (treating her art and writing like a side hustle), Kellie’s flipped the script. She brings her molecular biology background to her abstract mixed media art and her speculative fiction.
About Kellie M Hazell

Kellie looks for fascinating details in the microscopic and macroscopic worlds around us, searching for stories to tell. When acrylic, alkyd oil, and foil won’t do, she turns to prose and poetry, delighting when a painting and a piece of fiction come together to share a full narrative. Born in North Carolina, her father’s military career took her all over the United States and Europe before her own career took her even further. All the traveling gave her an intense appreciation for the connection she felt with Tucson, AZ, finally feeling a sense of home. After twenty years in molecular biology and clinical research, Kellie is grateful to absorb the scientific inspiration into her art and writing and share it with the world. She formed her own LLC, launched her website, and joined Startup Tucson to participate in their business development programs, including graduating from the Fall 2024 Pre-Accelerator course and exhibiting her work in the Startup Tucson Showcase. Her work has appeared in the Creative Mornings May 2024 theme blog post.
