Lawrence Lee
Category: Artist/Individual
Discipline: Traditional arts
Lawrence Lee has been a professional artist for almost fifty years. He began showing his work in fine galleries in 1972, mounted his first one-man show in 1976, and became a full-time professional artist in 1979.
His work is represented in the permanent collections of many noted museums and corporations, as well as in thousands of private collections worldwide.
Lawrence has accepted an invitation to exhibit his work in the Florence Biennale in Florence, Italy in 2023.
If you think you know what a Lawrence Lee painting is supposed to look like, you haven’t seen enough of them. His most often repeated and commented-on quote is “I’m not yet the best artist I can be, and I’m running out of time.”
In 1989, he wrote and illustrated the very first children’s book created in color on a computer. As an innovative CryptoArt OG with eight pieces in the famed Metapurse collection, he is a respected elder member of the NFT community.
Lawrence’s physical paintings are represented exclusively by Sorrel Sky Galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Durango, Colorado. He continues to live and work in Tucson, Arizona.
