Sophia Polyakova, TABY 2024

Sophia Polyakova grew up in Tucson AZ. She is currently pursuing her passion by planning to study Studio Art/Graphic Design at the U of A. Sophia’s work is characterized by the use of mixed media such as watercolor, pencil, and found objects. She draws inspiration from cultural experiences, cinema, and comics. Sophia often explores the theme of everyday life and interpersonal relationships. Throughout her career Sophia has won awards such as the Pima County Worlds of Imagination Art Contest and achieved the Seal of the Arts with her animation Underwater Escape. Now she has worked on the TABY public art piece for Wagging Tails Dog Park. Sophia aims to express herself through art, to articulate her style and cultural identity, in a way she couldn't with words.
