About Steve Grater

Steve Grater is a Tucson metal artist who has been following his passion for metal work since the early 1990s. The first manifestation was traditional blacksmithing. While working as a career wildland firefighter with the federal government, he worked at a blacksmithing shop and then opened his own shop, making and selling artistic, creative, and functional metal art to clients. He has pursued various aspects of metal art, including jewelry making, vessel forming, repoussé, casting and sculpture as a pursuit of his love for metal work.
