The Land With No Name Sanctuary is located in the Sierrita Mountains, where the high desert grassland of Cacti, Oak, and Bear Grass invite artists and art appreciators of diverse backgrounds to engage in art-centered experiences in a rural, outdoor environment. Here, everyone can tune in to their creative capacities and participate in expansive, community-oriented programming. Those who venture out to LWNN are participants, not visitors; we foster self-guided learning, project-based education, and art that lives its own life outside of a buyer-seller market. In its current capacity, LWNN hosts art workshops, artists in residence, sculpture tours, and special events, including seasonal plant harvesting days for local Tohono O’odham families to gather Bear Grass, an essential material for weaving traditional baskets.
