About the Artist
In 1970, this Microbiologist became a potter. After apprenticing with Harry Holl in Cape Cod, MA, I returned to my desert home & opened my business Sabino Stoneware Pottery. My work in clay includes sculpture as well as functional hi-fired pottery. My studio walls are decorated with collages from 50 years of drawing, pastels, charcoals & paintings. In 2024, I was invited to Jingdezhen, China to participate in the 'Taoxichuan International Fair and Exhibition'. I also founded Romero House Potters on the Tucson Museum of Art campus where I presently teach. My work is in the collection of the Cape Cod Museum of Fine Art. This year I've participated or will be in 'Small Wonders' in Philadelphia, PA; 'The Workhouse Clay International', Lorton, VA; 'Strictly Functional', Lancaster, PA; 'Put A Lid On It' Kansas City MO.Phone: 5204042786
