About the Artist
Mara Krumins is a metalsmith and mixed media artist who resides in both the northern suburbs of Chicago and Tucson, Arizona. After receiving her MBA and working in the financial industry, she left the business world to pursue her artistic dream. She is a primarily self-taught artist who uses her intuitive style to capture the world in her imagination. She has experience in many mediums including bookbinding, metalsmithing, ceramics, sculpture, photography, assemblage, and collage. Throughout the years, she has also taught classes in bookbinding, collage and mixed media. Since 1999, she has exhibited in shows and galleries both locally and internationally and was a founding member of two artist cooperatives, Four and Gallery 60035. She has served as President for the Chicago Metal Arts Guild and is currently a Board Member for PaperWorks in Tucson, AZ.Phone:
