Artist Bio: Sandra Parker - Earthbound by Nature, Starstruck by WonderSandra Parker is a watercolor artist based in Tucson, Arizona, where the desert landscape and vast night skies inspire her creative journey. While her work often explores the natural world with a sense of wonder, she also creates abstract pieces that channel emotion and imagination. Through her bold and intense colors, Sandra defies expectations, surprising viewers who are often astonished to discover that her vivid paintings are created in watercolor, a medium usually associated with softness and subtlety.
Sandra discovered her artistic talent while helping her daughter illustrate a middle school project. What began as a creative spark quickly grew into a passionate pursuit during the quiet isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, when she began her Night Skies collection, a visual meditation on awe, hope, and the childhood magic of gazing up at the stars.
Her art has been exhibited at local festivals and galleries, including the La Encantada Fine Art Festival and the Fourth Avenue Street Fair, and it continues to resonate with those drawn to the intersection of nature, abstraction, memory, and imagination.
