About the Artist
Founded in 1986 by artist Susan Gamble, Santa Theresa Tile Works makes brilliant, distinctive tile and mosaics that epitomize the Tucson decorative style. Once you notice Santa Theresa tile, you'll recognize it all over town–and across the nation.All Santa Theresa tile is handmade by our team of artists in our workshop at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Sixth Street, which, along with our beautiful showroom, is open to the public. There, in the heart of the Historic Warehouse Arts District, you'll find a friendly staff happy to help you create your own mosaic, a vast array of tiles, finished mosaics and unique Southwestern-themed gifts for sale, and a full schedule of tile-making workshops.
Since 2016, when Susan gave the business to the school, all proceeds from Santa Theresa go to benefit Imago Dei Middle School, a free private school for children from low-income families. As a non-profit, we have developed a volunteer and intern program, host open studio time weekly for artists that want to continue learning to make tile, teach tile making to students from Imago Dei, create custom mosaics for clients and collaborate with other non-profits to help them with fundraising.

About The Event
We hope you will visit our studio to learn more about our unique style of ceramic tile making and mosaic design. The showroom has loose tile, finished mosaics and unique southwestern gifts available for sale. You can also create a mosaic of your own in our showroom anytime we are open. We have everything you need and will set and grout the mosaic for you to pick up later. One of our Intensive Tile Making classes will be going on in our workroom the same week as the tour, which you can also observe.
