About The Event

Our studio is welcoming for all. Come have fun learning unique arts of Afro-Brazilian capoeira, music, and dance!
We've been teaching and playing in Tucson for 29 years!

Capoeira Workshops-kids, family, adults: We honor capoeira traditions and history. Come see and/or try this fun, flowing, beautiful dance-like martial art. We train barefoot with loose, comfortable clothing.

Capoeira Roda: 'Roda' means 'circle'. With everyone forming a circle, capoeira music drives players to challenge each other in 2-by-2 games. A great chance to see capoeira in action. Join by watching, singing, clapping to help drive the energy of capoeira games.

Percussion and Song Workshop = Learn songs in Portuguese AND play percussion: Berimbau (looks like a bow), Pandeiro (looks like a tambourine), Atabaque (drum), and more! Learn rhythms that drive capoeira games and Maculelê dance. With song lyrics on our studio wall and instruments for everyone!

Maculelê Workshop: Honoring stories of a boy who defended his village with just 2 sticks. Start by learning the rhythm of simple steps and sticks as we dance Maculelê. We'll demonstrate more complicated moves.

We hope you'll keep enjoying moving, humming, singing, and playing songs and rhythms for days after.
We welcome all back for more.
Come see and try awesome Afro-Brazilian capoeira/martial arts, music, and dance activities!
All day – Saturday, November 15 from 10 AM – 4:00 PM.  The full schedule, studio address, and workshop sign ups are available at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080D45AFAD22A57-58481061-open
