About the Artist
Many years ago in college I took a weaving class. Although I enjoyed the class I didn't enjoy the instructor. She liked structure and I did not. I always knew that I would weave again at some point but life happened and it took about 30 years for this to happen. Although I do know how to do traditional weaving I really enjoy more unstructured, artistic, and sometimes messy forms of weaving. I weave yards and yards of fun cloth and then allow the cloth to tell me what to do with it. I weave on a floor loom, a rigid heddle loom, and an Inkle loom. I recently purchased a spinning wheel by accident and will hopefully be able to create my own yarns, once I move beyond the frustrations of learning the process. Weaving, to me, is a joyful practice and my pieces reflect the fun I experience with it.Phone:
