Day 3: Anne Marie LaVigne

Anne Marie LaVigne
Creative Medium: Drawing, Fiber/Textile, Painting

About the Artist

Originally from Michigan, Anne has spent more that 50 years living in the Western US, mostly in southern Arizona. She studied at the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University, receiving degrees in Rehabilitation and Education. She worked with children and their teachers for 30+ years within local schools as well as traveling through the US and internationally. Most of her professional career focused on teaching systems thinking and system dynamics, a way of seeing interdependencies and dynamics within the world. She brings those concepts to her artistic endeavors as well. Along the way, she always strived to find moments to practice, learn, and foster the more creative side of life.

Anne currently raises chickens for eggs, works with horses, kayaks local waterways, hikes, and captures moments along the way in photographs and drawings. Anne's artistic training came mainly through The Drawing Studio with over 10+ years of study in drawing and pastel painting. She has also done extensive writing and graphic design work, creating both printed and digital resources. She has entered her works into a variety of local competitions and displays her work at a variety of events and in local spaces.
