About the Artist
I am a graduate of Tufts and the Boston Museum School with a focus on painting and metals. I'm proud to be a 1989 alumnus of the prestigious Skowhegan School of painting and sculpture. In 1992, driven by a sense of adventure and accompanied by a fellow artist, I embarked on a cross-country journey that led me from Boston to Bisbee, eventually settling in Tucson.In 1995, I met my husband while I was working near the University of Arizona. We married that same year and subsequently moved to his hometown of Florence, Italy between 1997 and 2000. During this period, I immersed myself in the study of jewelry techniques and the Italian language.
In late 2000, we returned to Tucson, where we started our family and pursued our respective careers. I have loved working as a jeweler since 1986, however a pinched nerve in my back rendered sitting at my workbench an arduous task. Consequently, I made the decision to shift my focus and return to my original passion of painting. I now paint daily at the 'Hive' studio complex near Park Mall, with a funky setting, great lighting, lovely studio neighbors, and our resident stray orange tabby, Simba.
