NEA awards the Arts Foundation with $250,000 CARES Grant

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has awarded the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona (AFTSA) a $250,000 CARES Grant, one of only nine community arts agencies in the country to be awarded the maximum amount. Four other Tucson arts organizations were each awarded $50,000 CARES Grants: Lead Guitar, Museum of Contemporary Art, Southwest Folklife Alliance, and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.

“As stewards of the NEA CARES Act grant, the Arts Foundation looks forward to managing an equitable, effective and expedited subgranting effort to reach the broadest constituency of arts organizations throughout all of southern Arizona,” says Adriana Gallego, Executive Director for AFTSA. “The effects of the subgranting program will scale beyond a one-time relief, as we strengthen relationships with the full breadth of our constituency, so we can better position our services and responses to co-author the terms for a new future together.”
