If you’ve been in Downtown Tucson near Alameda and Toole recently, you may have seen artist Ignacio Garcia bringing a vibrant new mural, “Los Tres Amigos,” to life on the Tucson City Court building at 103 E. Alameda St.

This  mural celebrates 100 years of the Tucson Rodeo and honors the rich history of La Fiesta de los Vaqueros.

The Arts Foundation was pleased to administer this artwork donation to the City of Tucson with support from the Public Art and Community Design Committee. For more information about artwork donations on city property, click the link below.

Garcia, who has painted over 40 murals across Tucson, says this project is special to him

“This is literally for Tucson,” he shared. “It’s the biggest mural I’ve ever done here.”

The mural features three men, a nod to the city’s rich cultural diversity.

“I try not to have a distinct identity but a real mix of culture because it’s always been that in Tucson,” Garcia explained.
