“New mural on the eastside created by students”

Jul 12, 2019 | Public Art

A new mural is going up on Tucson’s eastside! This mural is being painted by student artists who, working with regional artist Isaac Caruso, are creating a neighborhood mural at Palo Verde Pool. Caruso — known for painting Juicy, a vibrant, downtown mural of a blue quail on a bed of oranges — applied for and was selected to oversee the students (aged 16-18 years old) by the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona, in partnership with the Pima Association of Governments. This project focuses on local workforce development for public art projects and pays the student artists for their work. Thanks to KVOA’s Kendra Hall for featuring the artists and their beautiful work!

Also — come join us for the Palo Verde Pool Mural Dedication Ceremony on July 25th!
