Open Studio Tours (OST) is one of the largest self-guided showcases of artist studios and creative work spaces in the region running for over 10 years. Throughout its history, OST has allowed Tucson and Pima County’s artists to invite visitors into their studios/workspaces, free-of-charge, so they can directly engage with the working artists, see where art is created, and learn more about their artistic processes.
Artists can upload descriptions, pictures and video of their artworks and creative workspaces and have the opportunity to host In Person or Virtual Studio Tours during the event dates. By browsing the individual Artist Pages, visitors can still learn about and engage with artists, visit studios/workspaces, and purchase art directly from local artists in Southern Arizona.
Among the Arts Foundation’s overarching goals is the aim to advance artistic expression, civic participation, and the equitable economic growth of our diverse community by supporting artists with opportunities beyond funding in order to meet a need identified by community members. Open Studio Tours helps the Arts Foundation fulfill these aspects of our goals by supporting increased professional and marketing development for artists, helping to increase the financial sustainability of working artists beyond our traditional grant-making, and increasing the participation of artists with the broader community.
