Flying Books
The intent of Flying Books is to create the effect of a whirlwind of open books encircling the library. The artwork is made up of 101 separate elements, attached in a seemingly random order.

Working with a plasma cutter and steel plates, artist Simon Donovan created a whirlwind of books encompassing the library. Although they appear to be randomly placed, Donovan chose the position of each book with intention, taking into consideration size, shape and color.
