Artist Diane Schanz created three underwater portal scenes featuring fish, sea life and underwater plants for the exterior entrance wall of the pool. The large tiled circles in the wall resemble portholes through which one can view abundant marine life. Tiles of seashells and plants are affixed to the surfaces as are ceramic fish tiles made by students at Sopori Elementary School. The students painted and glazed their tiles with images of playful fish.
