About the Artist

I began Red Collar Press as a printmaker in 2017. I fell in love with the power of multiples and the history of printmaking. In school I focused mainly on letterpress and linocuts and progressed to screen printing. I have designed and printed the Love Tucson shirts found at Pop-Cycle on 4th Avenue. In 2022, I began incorporating sewing into my practice. I wanted to create unique garments with my printed designs and also think about reducing textile waste. At Studio 307, I offer alterations and mending to refresh your current wardrobe as well as my own up-cycled products.

About the Art

About the Process

I work in combining screen printing or linocuts with up-cycled fabrics. My favorite tools are magnetic bowls to wrangle needles and pins and my serger which adds such a nice finish to seams. I've been a Tucsonan my whole life and I am grateful for the art community that exists here. Tucson has influenced my work by providing an encouraging environment which inspired me to start selling my work and I love making connections and friendships that help me grow as an artist. My work is about making pieces that are both beautiful and functional. I believe that every garment should have actual pockets or should work in a way that makes our hectic lives a little more organized. If it looks atheistically pleasing on top of that, the hope is it makes you more likely to use it for a long time. I value durability, versatility, and uniqueness. I try my best to work zero waste and I keep my scrap fabric and threads for other projects or as alternative stuffing. Working zero waste is also why I offer alterations. When clothing fits you just right, a garment is less likely to be relegated to the back of the closet. My current project experimenting with different pocket shapes. It allows me to continue zero waste in my practice by using up scrap fabric and to also integrate my own quirky sense of style.
