About the Artist
Carolyn's educational background in classical voice, architecture, interior; graphic and 3-D design, gave her a foundation and deep appreciation for the arts. Her inspiration is derived from travels throughout the world, her favorite place being the Sonoran Desert. Her objective is to create work with depth of character; intrique. She wants viewers to approach her one-of-a-kind pieces at first glance. We are all unique and interesting human beings; in this way Carolyn's work strikes a relatable organic tone. Carolyn's rare Obvara ceramics are truly a labor of love. This exciting medieval Eastern European clay firing method pays tribute to the nature of early use of clay. After carefully creating and solidifying each piece, Carolyn especially enjoys orchestrating the dynamic Obvara technique achieving visual and tactile results akin to her beloved Southwest desert landscape.Artist Website:

About The Event
Welcome to my studio. I look forward to visiting with you in person during this exciting weekend. Enjoy the beautiful mountain views here in my state of the art ceramic studio. I will provide demonstrations of the Obvara technique at approximately 30 minute intervals from 10:00am and 2:00pm each of the 3 tour days. I will have one of a kind pieces for acquisition including large statement pieces for interiors as well as seasonal pieces. Obvara, Raku, and various other types of ceramics will be available including wall pieces. See you soon!
