About Cita Scott
The colors and light of the Southwest infuse Cita's work, which celebrates nature through still life, landscapes and gardenscapes in acrylic, collage and photography. Born in California, Cita grew up on the east coast and traveled extensively, particularly in Europe where she studied at La Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and La Sorbonne in Paris. A major in studio art and art history, she received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College in N.Y. She was an assistant painting instructor for the University of Michigan's Semester Abroad art program in Lacoste, France and spent several summers painting near Barcelona. Before painting full time, she was assistant director of The Pyramid Galleries in Washington, D.C. and manager of The Max Hutchinson Gallery in New York. Cita's museum exhibits include one at The Phillips Collection in Washington,The North Carolina Museum of Art and most recently the Tucson Museum of Art. Her work is represented in museum and corporate collections, as well a in private collections throughout the country, including Tucson's Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum and Northern Trust Bank. More than fifty of her pieces are in the Healing Arts program at The Tucson Medical Center.
