About the Artist

Bio of David Jewell
When I was about 13 years old, my parents took me with them on a tour of the great
Southwest. While we were in Cody, Wyoming walking through a small arts and crafts fair, I saw
a Native American man sitting in a metal chair in front of a blank 18 x 24 canvas. He noticed
my curiosity and began painting using a 4 inch paint brush that looked like it had been
purchased at the local Home Depot. In no more that 15 minutes, I saw him use that one brush
to paint the most delicate, detailed and beautiful landscape I had ever seen. I was amazed and
the seed had been planted.
That seed took many years to begin growing but it eventually did. I began painting about 15
years ago and my training consisted of whatever information I could pick up on line. Even
though I have received no formal training, my acrylic paintings have won awards and I continue
to have a world-wide audience. Each of my acrylic paintings is a mixture of warm and cool
colors and usually result in a somewhat realistic image.
I sincerely hope you enjoy my work.
