About the Artist
Dennis Canty paints landscapes and figures in oils. His specialty is scenes of the SW United States and Mexico. He paints, shows, and sells principally through his home studios in the US and Mexico. I will be showing recent paintings of Southern Arizona and Baja California, mostly landscapes but also some people. I will try to paint live if it’s not too hectic. Visitors will see paintings at various stages of completion and will learn more about the process of completing a painting. A variety of paintings from $75 to $600 will be for sale.

About the Process
Whenever possible, I spend four to six hours a day working on paintings in the studio. At any given time, I will have four or five paintings at various states of completion, waiting for inspiration or simply for the last layer of paint to dry. I often go back and paint over older paintings. I spend a good bit of time outdoors getting inspiration and taking pictures to use as reference materials for paintings. I also spend a lot of time in galleries and museums getting ideas I can translate into my paintings.Explore Nearby Studios
