About the Artist

Holly Swangstu creates contemporary mixed-media paintings that connect nature, memory, and place. Originally from the Midwest and from a family of artists, Holly has over two decades of experience in professional creative practice. She earned her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and her career has been shaped by a dual commitment to exhibiting her own work and fostering arts communities through arts leadership and teaching. She has been featured in solo exhibitions within venues such as Leedy-Voulkos Art Center in Kansas City and the Tohono Chul Gardens in Tucson, Her work has also appeared in numerous group and two-person exhibitions across the United States, with gallery representation spanning Arizona, Iowa, and Missouri. In addition to formal gallery experiences, Holly's signature dyed textile paintings on canvas have often appeared in places where art meets everyday life — from airports to botanical gardens. Holly draws inspiration from the natural environments she calls home, is passionate about fostering creative experimentation and invites viewers to find beauty in the everyday.
