About the Artist
I was six when mom saw me drawing and painting.'Honey, would like a children's art class?'
'No. I want an adult art class.'
My wonderful mother found a group that said yes.
As a full time, freelance artist & designer since 1982 I've painted everything from portraits to expansive murals, including fifty theater sets in the San Francisco Bay Area where I ran my gallery & studio for 30 years.
A study of museum masterpieces interpreted in watercolor was inspired by sketches in museums in Paris and across the US. Over fifteen years The Faux Louvre exhibited at 150 galleries and art festivals in CA, NV & NY. As one collector described it, 'Like a really good tribute band... but for art.' The series ended with 300 originals. A few eclectic pieces are still available, like the Suicide of Cleopatra and Van Gogh's most depressing landscape.
Last year, after seven years painting and writing in Woodstock New York, I moved to sunny Tucson where I now have a cute little bungalow and Clara the mighty chiweenie.
This September I won Best of Show at the SAACA Plein Air Festival at Park Place Mall—an exciting welcome to my new home.
