About the Artist
Perianne GrignonAs a plein air watercolor artist based in Tucson, Arizona, I find surprising beauty in the desert landscape and the rhythms of daily life around town. Painting outdoors in watercolor is an exciting challenge—the interplay of water, pigment, and environment creates a sense of immediacy and spontaneity that I find both invigorating and joyful. Every time I set up my easel, I feel a renewed sense of fun and anticipation for what the day will bring.
I came to painting after decades working in the advertising and corporate world. While living in Manhattan, I began carrying a sketchbook and pencil, which naturally evolved into a love for watercolor. A move to Tucson in 2019 opened up a world of beautiful outdoor weather for painting, inspiring landscapes, and exciting art organizations to meet other artists.
I am a Signature Member of the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild (SAWG), an artist member of the Sonoran Plein Air Painters, and I also paint with the Tucson Barrio Painters.
I have studied with artists Geoff Allen, Shari Blaukopf, Pat Fiorello, Roberta Rogers, and Joseph Stoddard, and I am currently being mentored by Tucson artist Tracy Lynn Ross.
