About the Artist

Rachel Marie Castillo is a Tucson-based photographer and artist whose work celebrates authenticity, empowerment, and identity. She first discovered photography in high school as a way to express herself while navigating the challenges of being a young mother. Over the past 25 years, her camera has been both a tool for storytelling and a way to help people see their own beauty and strength.

Her artistic journey is deeply rooted in body positivity and queer expression, with a focus on creating inclusive, identity-affirming portraits that allow people to feel seen and celebrated. Rachel's work has uplifted the LGBTQ+ community for more than two decades, and her portraits have become both personal keepsakes and powerful statements of self-love.

In addition to her commercial studio practice, Rachel continues to explore portraiture as a medium for connection and social change—inviting viewers to reflect on visibility, vulnerability, and the importance of existing in photos.
