About the Artist
Randiesia is a Creative Facilitator and deemed a Racial Equity Racial Justice Coach from the Arizona Emerging Leaders Network. She is Green Leaders Certified through the City of Tucson and Local First Arizona. She serves as a Curator/Master Teaching Artist--an Artistic Anthropologist who specializes in Auto-Ethnographic works. She explores cultural phenomena through her personal experiences.This specialty uses her experiences and knowledge to articulate broader social, cultural, and political meanings in her literature and artwork. She challenges the perceptions of African American faces, particularly a non-smiling face. Her research, writings, and artwork are influenced by the anthropological investigations of Zora Neal Hurston, and the literature of W. E. B. Dubois. Dubois speaks about the Double Consciousness. It is the dichotomy of how a person views themselves versus how the world views that person.
Randiesia teaches a monthly Artistic Social- Cultural class identifying current affairs. This class has an international presence. She has shown work and presented panels at the University of Arizona and The Museum of Contemporary Arts and a variety of galleries. Additionally, she provides experience with a variety of worldwide workshops & panels, published works, and periodicals written about her works within the Tucson community.
