About the Artist
A love of beads started my journey to the place I am today.
Experimenting with many different materials, color combinations and techniques is a daily form of exercise for me. My work has been sold at juried art shows, in boutiques, galleries, and online since 1995. As a retire educator, teaching wire and bead techniques has been a delightful enhancement to my artistic career. I have taught at all the national bead shows. Publications include my book, Wire Knitting...On a Spool, Making Bead & Wire Jewelry and Bead Unique Magazine. Some experience with metal and the infinite design qualities possible with wire pulled me further along my artistic path. I employ spool knitting with wire, a fiber technique created in 10th century Scandinavia for making cords and braids, to the creation of jewelry and accessories. Wrapping the wire in a variety of ways and adding beads and/or fiber allows me to create different looks, experimenting with colors, textures and wires. Using off-loom bead weaving techniques sparks my imagination.
My journey continues, with combinations of fiber, wire and beads, Who knows where the journey will end.
