About the Artist

I have been a visual artist and a musician since early childhood. At present I am in the prime of my life as a senior in retirement and I finally have the time, the energy and the means to pursue my creative leanings more thoroughly. I am thrilled that I have my own studio to work in and pleased to open it to those interested in gaining a peek at my process. In high school I studied with the Printmaking Workshop in New York City which at that time was run by Robert Blackburn who is known to have revived the art of lithography. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1978 from SUNY Purchase. There I was influenced by artists such as John Cohen, Antonio Frasconi and Murray Zimiles among others. My present work in clay, acrylic painting and multimedia is influenced by Pagan culture, nature and music both local and beyond. It is highly intuitive. I have exhibited locally in group shows at Raices Taller Gallery. I have volunteered with youth in a local art program run by Goodwill. I believe art is very important for mental health, healing, stress reduction and finding meaning in life.
