About the Artist

My earliest entrepreneurial steps were with fabric crafts. That migrated into weaving simple tapestries and dabbling in basket making. When I fell in love with gemstones the cast was set. The first few years were spent in creating jewelry then the call to grow larger lead to what I laughingly call "wall jewelry" which showcases Mother Earth's (Pacha Mama's) own exquisite creations--gemstones. Over the years it has been my great good fortune to have had pieces of my art placed in galleries in Tucson, Arizona, Mesilla, New Mexico and Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco, California.

A number of art residents, myself among them, can be found within the Monterey Court Studios. We will be opening our spaces to welcome curious art enthusiasts. There are a variety of wares to view–an art illustrator, a crafty sewing maven, an eclectic shop with savory oldies and newly designed jewelry pieces to name a few of the Monterey Court Studio’s creative Spirits as well as my own copper and semiprecious gemstone artwork.

About the Art

About the Process

I consider myself a conduit. I do not start a piece until I feel moved to create something which, for me, means that there is someone requesting a piece with certain stones to assist them in their life. As a dowser, I muscle test for the form the piece will take, the stones to be used, and the placement on the piece of the stones. The making is like being between the worlds in timelessness creative bliss, even when I feel stuck. Waiting for the mystery to unfold as to why and for whom a piece is created can be wearisome, yet It is a delight to discover the back story behind their choice--he was drawn to the piece for his sister, the marking of their 25th anniversary, a visual touchstone to mark his visit with his mother, and he wanted to have a piece that has his birthstone.
