About the Artist

Tim O'Grady works from a home studio in Tucson, Arizona, drawing on paper to create forms and spaces that are recognizable without being representational. Recently, he's been working with layers of charcoal and tape on paper, drawing over and around the tape, pulling the tape up to rip the paper, and then continuing to draw, creating new textures, forms, and problems to be solved. All his work examines the intersection between a plausible reality and an irrational form, a space and structure defined but neither real nor surreal.
