About the Artist

Ulli Hain is a mixed media artist with an emphasis on collage and cyanotype. As a Midwest/East Coast transplant now based in Tucson, she draws inspiration from the beauty and challenges of the desert.

With a formal education and Ph.D. in biology, Ulli brings curiosity, observational skills, and experimentation to her art practice in order to explore the seen and unseen world. Themes include social and environmental justice, ancestral and personal healing, and spiritual transformation.

As an emerging artist, Ulli furthers her craft through regular classes at the University of Arizona and Pima Community College as well as informal workshops. Her work has been exhibited extensively in the region and showcased in national juried exhibitions.

About The Event

My studio is my mid-century ranch style home, lovingly called the Cosmic Ranch. My artwork will be on display with a variety of pieces for sale (although this is in no way expected). I will be working throughout the day in my studio and happy to discuss my inspiration, process, or answer any other questions. I will also be offering demonstrations of the cyanotype printmaking process (scheduled to be between 2-3:30 pm on Sat and Sun with potential for demos outside that time slot).
Notes about content: Some pieces use explicit language, deal with abortion rights, and/or allude to violence, menstruation, or sexuality. There is no explicit nudity or violence.
