We’re excited to welcome Gia Del Pino as the new Communications Manager at the Arts Foundation!
Gia is a cultural worker, writer, and educator with over a decade of experience in strategic communications across the arts, advocacy, and academia. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Art and Visual Culture Education at the University of Arizona, where her research focuses on the intersection of environmental justice, migration, and visual culture.
Gia has led communications efforts for a wide range of institutions, from grassroots nonprofits to major museums. She develops campaigns and storytelling strategies that center community engagement and equity. As Marketing Specialist at the Center for Creative Photography, she supported exhibitions and programs that explored photography’s role in shaping public dialogue and cultural memory.
She is a Medici Scholar and a member of the Climate Advocacy Lab, a national network that supports over 4,000 climate practitioners working to advance equitable climate solutions. Gia’s writing appears in A Love Letter to This Bridge Called My Back, and she has been featured by BBC, PBS, and The Economist. She is a current board member of the Photography Network and a former Mellon HSI Crossing Latinidades Fellow. She brings a cross-sector perspective to the role of arts in civic life and regional development.
“I’m honored to continue serving Tucson and the borderlands through work that uplifts artists, builds community, and supports a more just and vibrant cultural ecosystem,” she says.
