We are thrilled to announce a new addition to our team at the Arts Foundation: Yu Yu Shiratori! In her new role as Public Art Collections Associate, Yu Yu will administer and implement best practices in public art donations, collections inventory, conservation, and maintenance.

Yu Yu is a creative professional with an interdisciplinary background in Social Behavior and Human Understanding from the University of Arizona. Her drive to understand nuanced narratives and converging cultural perspectives has shaped her multidimensional studio practice, and is reflected in her experience from hyperlocal art-centered projects to established, nationally recognized museums and institutions.

She has participated in programming with the Arizona State University Art Museum, University of Arizona, Museum of Contemporary Art Tucson, Tucson Museum of Art, and has received numerous grants through local and national arts organizations.

Her experiences with art have ingrained in her that the most impactful projects arise from critical thinking, collaborative efforts, and a brave exploration of society’s hidden layers.
