“As communities grow, they often have to look two ways at the same time: how do we look forward while also preserving the past? What is our posture toward growth and change? And if a community is growing because more people are attracted to live in and visit that place, how do we protect the cultural and artistic heritage that drew people to it in the first place? Answers are often found in art.”
