Grants

Our grants provide direct funding for individual artists, arts organizations, and community-based arts projects throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Over the past five years, we have provided more than $1,000,000 to approximately 350 artists, arts organizations, community groups, and neighborhoods. This money has allowed working artists to pursue their passions, local neighborhoods to animate shared space, and arts organizations to continue to open their doors to the community and provide a wide range of programming.

Grant Review Process

All grant applications are evaluated by staff for completeness, followed by a panel comprised of peer and community members (open to the public). The Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona Grants Committee and the Board of Directors make final approval on all allocations of funding.

Grants Committee and Panelists

The Grants Committee includes community members with an expertise in the arts, arts management, and/or nonprofit administration. The Grants Committee functions as an advisory group to The Art Foundation’s Board of Directors. Committee members establish guidelines for the application process and review of grant applications and awards, as well as make allocation recommendations to the Board of Directors.
