Menlo Archway

This work of public art was designed to match the spirit and intention of this park, and reflect the history of the Menlo neighborhood and surrounding areas. The archway is made with the last batch of Rose Quartz bricks manufactured in Tucson. The clay used is from Cienega Creek. The Grabe Brick Company was located in this exact area, but closed its doors (around) 1974. Many of the local residents fathers and grandfathers worked at that brickyard, and would be considered master bricklayers by todays standards.
