The Ocean’s Garden, Gratitiude, Tranquil dad en el Aqua, Below the Surface

The tile explores and celebrates the physical and spiritual aspects of water and our experience of being immersed in it. The dimensional tile is meant to be touched. The intention is that it be as pleasing to those who are blind as it is for those who are sighted. The quote on the outside of the facility, "Gratitude," expresses how important being able to be submerged in water is to those with disabilities

Artists Stephen Grede and Nina Borgia-Aberle worked with dimensional tile to create a visual representation of how humans experience water. The various tiles reference water as it appears from different perspectives; smaller portions of tile are meant to depict sand and shells.
