Tempe Public Art: Call for 2D works of art

Tempe Public Art is expanding the city’s Portable Works Collection. The collection focuses on beautifying the built environment by bringing artwork to city-operated facilities where the public is also able to enjoy it. We are seeking two-dimensional works that were created in the past three years that highlight the environment, culture, sense of place and quality of life in the desert. Works on paper (printmaking, drawing, collage, painting, photography) by artists currently living in Maricopa County will be considered for this collection. Please apply!
Call to Artists: Participatory Art in Parks
City of Tempe Community Arts

The City of Tempe is seeking an experienced visual artist or artist collective to create an eye-catching participatory art piece that is site specific to six Tempe parks. The piece will be used at Arts in the Parks events held over three weekends from Jan. 20th to Feb. 4th, 2024, from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. This visual or multi-modal artwork should be vibrant, dynamic, and engaging to encourage community exploration and creative collaboration. The artwork must incorporate components that can be touched, arranged, or modified allowing attendees of all ages to become active participants in shaping the visual and sensory experience within the park.
Valley Metro Light Rail, Phoenix, Call to Artists

Valley Metro Light Rail is accepting submittals from established and emerging artists for eight public art opportunities along the planned Capitol Extension light rail alignment. National and local artists may apply.
The Capitol Extension (Capex) light rail project will run from downtown Phoenix to the Arizona state Capitol Building. The project will include a total of six rail platforms as well as two traction power substations.
Eight artists will be selected. Budgets range from $50,000 for the substations, for emerging artists; to $300,000 for the station platforms, for established artists. Artists will apply for both opportunities.

City of Flagstaff Beautification, Arts & Sciences

The City of Flagstaff seeks proposals for large-scale, three-dimensional (3D) sculptures for a temporary outdoor exhibition in 2024. The exhibition will feature five artworks, existing or newly created, that reflect and make visible aspects of Indigenous and other diverse cultural representation, including Black and Latinx art. Selected artworks can advance essential perspectives and narratives through a myriad of ways and will prompt appreciation, conversation and interaction. Local, regional and national artists, 18 years or older, are eligible to apply.

Under the administrative direction of the Chief Development Officer (CDO), the Director of the Annual Fund identifies, cultivates, and acquires appropriate annual fund donors and prospects. This individual manages a matrix of solicitation and communication strategies all focused on shaping a sustainable tradition of annual support. Responsibilities include expanding the donor base, increasing awareness of giving opportunities, matching gift programs, and executing best-in-class stewardship strategies. The incumbent is responsible for organizing and coordinating the annual Get Connected and other donor events. The Director of the Annual Fund supervises a team comprised of the Digital Media Coordinator, Development Associate, and Communications Associate. This team will increase as the organization grows.
