🎨Introducing our Color Palette of the Month project, Yvonne Montoya’s “Stories From Home” !

The color palettes for “Stories from Home” were co-created by the project’s artistic director, costume designers, digital animator, and lighting designer in a collaborative creative process. Each dance has its own color palette that reflects the different stories that serve as the inspiration for each piece. ⁠

Yvonne Montoya is a bi-national choreographer based in Tucson and recipient of the Arts Foundation Project Creosote Grant. She was a 2021 PlainView Fellow, a 2019-2020 Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Fellow, a 2019-2020 Dance/USA Artist Fellow, a recipient of the 2020 MAP Fund, and the first Arizona-based artist to receive the 2020 New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) National Dance Project Production Grant. In 2022, her company Safos Dance Theatre received the National Performance Network Creation Fund Grant and the National Endowment for the Arts Grants for Arts Project Grant for her piece Stories From Home.
