About the Process
Having no formal training in art, I work intuitively guided by my love of ordinary materials at hand. It’s a legacy. Decades ago on our small farm in Eastern Pennsylvania, it was common practice to reuse materials—what is now called repurposing or upcycling For my grandfather and mother, it was scraps of wood, metal, fabric, and yarn made into beautiful and functional objects of our daily lives. For me it is primarily “found” paper, newspapers, magazines, postcards and bits of my own earlier work, photographs, prints, and drawings made into collages where they all seem to belong.
